As you know last year I spent a lot of time travelling abroad. Below I will just give you some brief highlights. If you would like more details then let me know because I need an excuse to write it all up for myself as well. A wonderful group Sfinx Women appointed me their spiritual advisor and teacher. This onerous task means that I travel with a group of wonderful women to beautiful exotic places where we learn, share and grow. Sharing our development, knowledge and experiences. Getting to know different cultures and spiritual practices. Developing our own spirituality and relationship with ourselves, each other and the lands we travel in. (For more info on Sfinx Women click the above link). In Venice we worked with water energies. Connecting to Archangel Gabriel and our emotions. Identifying and letting go of old emotions that were holding us back. As well as partaking of the carnival celebrations, making our own masks, dressing up in period costums, parading in St. Marks Square, and of course going to the ball as well as learning more about ourselves, the masks we wear and how we behave behind them. This was a truly wonderful experience. In Buenos Aires we worked with the element of air and Archangel Raphael. Here we learned to let go of all the internal mind chatter that clutters our time so we could connect to our deep inner wisdom. We worked with healing our thoughts and identifying what was really important to us. As well as learning about Argentinian culture, the real Eva Peron, as well as having a wonderful alfresco lunch and riding polo ponies at a traditional Estanzia.
My next trip with Sfinx Women was to South Africa. This was magical. We worked with both fire and earth energies. Connecting to this ancient land through safaris in the Kruger National Park where we met the local wildlife before sundowners in the bush where we meditated and connected to our own power animals and brought the energy of grounded action into our lives. Then on to south of Capetown. Where we were staying was actually on the bottom of the great African rift so we sent healing to the earth and to heal the vast rift between the peoples of Africa and to bring peace to this world. The next day we were rewarded by the most amazing rainbow which stayed over us for over 2 hours whilst we walked in the wilderness and connected to the rock art where we actually saw an angel painted over 10,000 years ago. This rainbow instead of fading away just eventually dropped into the ground. In Greece I spent a week at the Temple of Artemis on the Island of Ikaria in the company of Anne Jones and a group who had come together to celebrate, share and develop their healing gifts. Artemis is the Goddess of sailors and wild animals and often is equated to Diana the Roman goddess. Here we explored ourselves, our past lives, and soul essence as well as developing our healing potential. We also reconsecrated the site to the feminine energy on the autumn equinox and sent healing on the night of the full harvest moon. For me it was also an identification and letting go of lots of karma through past lives. I had many dreams and recollections and managed to put them all to rest. As the memories came to conciousness then so they could be released and healed. Also some of us went for a walk one afternoon up the river bed and discovered an even older site of homage to the feminine. We all found ourselves sitting in a natural figure of 8, the symbol of eternity and I led a meditation to let go of the earth imprint of the carnage that had been wraught and to reconsecrate the site to peace. We each felt the energy release and the new flow of energy from the universe into mother earth through the vehicle of our bodies. All this whilst taking time to swim in the clear waters of the Agean Sea.
Next was Egypt where I joined Jude Currivan's group travelling round the ancient sites. My experiences here were just too numerous to mention. Surfice to say that I felt very at home and reconnected to my deep inner knowing of sacred geometry, the temples and the pyramids. I connected to events in the Valley of the Kings and even had King Tuts tomb all to myself for an hour. What's the odds on that. I sent healing across time and space to clear all the negative karma I had contracted during my many lifetimes in Egypt. I know it changed because that afternoon I received a white feather in exceptional circumstances at the Sanctury of Thoth and knew that my heart had been weighed and was now cleansed. We also climbed mount Sanai (partly on camel back) where Moses reputedly received the 10 commandments. We shared the sunrise with people of every nationality, race, colour and creed, Jews, Muslims, Christians, Buddists, Hindus, etc. They all helped each other up and down the mountain and sang the hymn "How Great Thou Art" in a multitude of languages. There we all stood on the mountain top looking down at the sunkissed peaks. An experience I will never forget. Then to Serebit el khadem and the temple of Hathor, up a mountain that if I had known where we were going I would not have gone. Where I was completely inappropriately dressed and shod. I had to borrow a pair of boots from our driver before I could go. Not that there was any question that I would go. I was driven in a way I have never felt driven before. There I felt very much at home. I as many of the group, felt it was a portal across time and space to somewhere. Perhaps it was, I certainly felt very alone and very much like ET wanting to "Go Home". All this whilst making new friends, healing ourselves, visting the most wonderful perfumeries of essential oils (big accident with the credit card here) and swimming in the Red Sea whilst sending healing from the other end of the African Rift which runs from the Red Sea to just south of Capetown. Finally, again with Sfinx Women, to Bhutan, the land of the Thunder Dragon. Nestling in the Himilayers between India and South Eastern TIbet. The home of the Taktsang Monestary commongly known as the Tigers Nest where the second Buddah Guru Padma Sambhava, (called Guru Rimpoche meaning Precious Teacher)subdued the naughty spirits and brought Buddahism to the land. The land was home to me. I started to cry when the plane landed and continued on and off untill after I left. We connected to our higher selves and created our own mandala depicting our spiritual journies and energies. We travelled up the mountain on horseback and marvelled at how the monestary had been built in the first place let alone how we were going to get to it ourselves. The closer we got the more we c ould all sense the fantastic energy eminating from it. We entered the temple and were lucky enough to receive a private blessing with the Llama Rinzin Head of the monestary, who later joined hands with us on the balcony as we sent peace and healing round the world because it was armistic day. He said that he recognised that although we were all different races and religions he recognised us as sisters in spirit and that every day on that same balcony I had chosen for our healing meditation he sent healing to the world. All this whilst exploring ourselves, our desires for our future, creating a story board for the coming year, sitting by a log fire under the stars, swimming and doing yoga as well as learning about the local history, culture and dance. For me leaving Bhutan was even more difficult than leaving Tibet which set me on this life path in 2000. 2007 was a magical year for me where I attained one of my dreams which was to travel and work abroad. Cost me a bomb and has put me deep in debt but was worth every penny.
This year I go to Machu Pichou in October as well as teaching in Majorca, France and Australia so watch this space. WOMEN OF WISDOM A SOJOURN IN RURAL TUSCANY YOURS TO EXPERIENCE AT “I CINGHIALI” 22 – 30 July 2008 This event being run by my friend Buzz McCarthy, co-founder of Sfinx Women, is a must for me in the future. Unfortunatley it clashes with my own workshops this year but hopefully I will go in the future. Below is what it is all about. In May and June 2006, nine women gathered at the villa “I Cinghiali” in Northern Tuscany to break bread and converse for 12 days, to shop, to laugh, to share, to walk, to have immense fun and learnings with, and more. Some of them came together as long-standing friends; all went away as friends for a lifetime.
It was an extraordinary experience, acknowledged by the women in the following ways:
“You have created a beautiful space for awakening old memories of silence, inner wisdom and women’s love”
“It has been a lifetime experience. I feel so lucky and so grateful.”
“I will always treasure our memories”
“What magic, what joy, what laughter you created for all of us”.
“Cherished memories and new members of my Front Row”.
“I loved the connection between the girls brought about in such a wise natural way.” For further details see http://www.italianexperience.com.au/ or email Buzz directly at
