Living with Soul

April 2010 Love Power & Wisdom

Welcome to April’s newsletter.

Welcome we have now officially entered spring.   Spring is the beginning of new birth.   The shoots are coming out of the ground and preparing for lots of growth.   We have lots of opportunities to move forward and the message and meditation from Archangel Shekinah continues the theme of the Spiritual Awakening in this 3 year with a view to connecting you to your inner divine self, accessing the Love, Power & Wisdom of your inner self and being able to express it in our world today.   Also some religions will be celebrating festivals at this time of year.   Jews celebrate the Passover, Christians celebrate Easter which is traditionally a time of re-birth.  A time when we can die to our old ways of being and be reborn into a more soulful loving life.  This is a time when we as individuals have a responsibility to ourselves to connect to our soul energies, to strip away the ego based separateness, the desire for personal gain, recognition, power, and connect to the one.   Not just for ourselves but for the collective as humanity reaches prepares for the choice point of 2012.

Message & Meditation from the Angels.
April ‘s message & meditation is from SHEKINAH Archangel of the hidden inner feminine energies of LOVE POWER & WISDOM   Both are in both written and audio formats.   I recommend you download both but the meditation is a beautiful meditation and I would highly recommend you using it as often as possible.   It will not only allow you to receive the new energies from the portals opened during March but will assist you in raising your personal vibration and that of the collective.   As well as just making you feel absolutely wonderful.   I keep mine on my Ipod so I can do them where-ever and when-ever I like.

The Planets   (www.astrology.com)
Pluto is the planet of power. Pluto's energy may be subtle, but its results will hit you like a ton of bricks. This planet is about transformation, regeneration and rebirth. Things aren't pretty with Pluto, but they do get done. Pluto says 'out with the old and in with the new,' and we'd better be ready for it. If we're not, this planet will simply have us wallow in our misery. Pluto asks us to transcend that which we know, redeem ourselves in the process, and come out stronger as a result. This planet knows how to push buttons.
On March 26, the fiery Aries Sun squares a slow moving, intensely determined Pluto in Capricorn. A square is formed when two planets are at a 90 degree angle from one another. Traditionally squares were seen as difficult aspects in astrology but the reality is they provide creative tension which can lead to real achievement. Yes! It will take some sweat and slog but effort will bear dividends.
Pluto likes power, control and destruction. Pluto can make us feel stuck and at the mercy of circumstances. This is the time to stand up for yourself and take control if you need to turn a tricky situation around to your advantage. Two things are needed, however, to tackle Pluto.

One is self-confidence. The dark side of Pluto can be contemptuous or guilt-inducing and manipulative. If you sense someone is trying to pull your strings or put you down - don't let them. Outright confrontation never works well with Pluto since it inevitably ends up in power struggles and causes stalemates where everyone digs in their heels and refuses to budge. Be subtle and strategic. Play it cool and smile blandly in the face of dirty tricks and do not let anything get under your skin.
The other trick with Pluto is to be persuasive. Do not try to trump the planet of power and try to get the last word in, since that strategy will only create bitterness and resentment. Look upon Pluto as the planet of influence. Speak softly with Pluto - do not roar - and you will go far!

Astrologically, April is the month of renewal and new beginnings as a new zodiacal year begins with the Spring Equinox and we are ready to charge out into the world!

This year, however, with Saturn in Libra and Pluto in Capricorn, we can expect obstacles and delays before we are able to settle down. Venus, located in indulgent Taurus, will make for passion and great enthusiasm, as it joins hands with flamboyant Mars in Leo, and then get ready for magical moments with a few sparks flying around April 5, when it slinks into a sexy and seductive trine to Pluto.

However, the light-hearted mood will not last long. Pluto turns retrograde on April 2 signalling in a time for new beginnings and dead ends. Retrograde Saturn, the planet of duty, discipline and hard work, also reverses into Virgo on April 7 to make sure that we have learned the lessons of realism and discipline that Saturn has been trying to teach us for the last two years. This is a good time to get serious about a new a new fitness regime and an even better time to streamline work methods.

Expect a fair amount of burning the candle at both ends with the the energetic Aries New Moon on the 14 since temptation-heavy Venus will not put up with all work and no play. On April 17, Mercury turns retrograde in Taurus for the second time this year, so be prepared and use your knowledge of how to work with Mercury retrograde periods to make your life easier.

As the Sun moves of out impatient and hyper-active Aries into earthy Taurus on the 20, we will all feel a shift in gears -- the pace will become slower and there will more solid achievements. A favourable Sun trine Pluto on the 23 will give us the opportunity to empower ourselves and realize that we can overcome our own hurdles and be masters of our own destiny.

And lastly there will be a Saturn in Virgo opposition Uranus in Pisces to contend with on April 26. Oppositions are planets sitting exactly across from each other on the zodiac. Saturn and Uranus will pull us in two contradictory directions at once. For Saturn, the old ways are the best, however Uranus will demand that we go for innovations, experimentations, encourage us to rebellious and follow our own whims instead of listening to others. Remember, life is not black and white ?- it is all varying shades of gray!

Celestial Forecast by Joanna Bristow-Watkinds of  www.harmonyhealing.co.uk

Thursday 1st April is April Fool’s day.  In France, prior to the year 1582, the New Year was celebrated for eight days, starting with the 25th of March, with the festivities culminating on April 1st. With the reform of the Christian calendar under King Charles IX, through the influence of Pope Gregory, the Gregorian calendar was introduced, and New Years Day was moved to the first of January. However, due to lack of communications in those days, many people did not receive the news for several years. Furthermore, some obstinate individuals refused to accept the new calendar and continued to celebrate the New Year on April 1st. These people were classified as “fools” by the general public and were often subject to some ridicule and were invited to bogus parties; hence, the tradition of April Fool’s Day.

Thursday 1st April, in addition to being April Fool’s Day, is also the Roman celebration of Veneralia and Fortuna Virilis.  Both celebrations seem loosely connected with Venus who is honoured on this day and whose advice is sought on matters of love.

Friday 2nd April is the Christian Festival of Good Friday, which is a Bank Holiday in the UK as part of Easter Celebrations.  This commemorates the Day when Jesus was crucified.  It was not called ‘Good Friday’ until 4th Century and may be a corruption of God’s Friday.

Sunday 4th April
is Easter Sunday.  Intriguingly, Easter Sunday is not a set date but is calculated according to the Lunar cycle, being the next Sunday after the first Full Moon following the Vernal (Spring) Equinox, so it can move around between 22nd March and 25th April.  This points to the celebration being linked to an earlier Pagan celebration, which were all associated with seasons and moon cycles; further corroborative evidence being the name Easter – derived from the Pagan God Eostre; the Easter Egg – reminiscent of the Pagan egg to symbolise fertility and the Easter Bunny – a variation on the Pagan Hare, another ancient symbol of fertility and with a 28 day gestation period very linked to the lunar cycle.  In Ancient Egypt the hare is a hieroglyph meaning ‘existence’.

Sunday 4th April is also Magna Mater in the Roman calendar.  This is the festival of Phrygian Great Earth Mother Cybele.  Her priests took on female clothes and identities to commemorate her son Attis, who was castrated and died of the wounds but was later resurrected

Monday 5th April is the Christian Festival of Easter Monday, which is a Bank Holiday in the UK.  This is generally taken to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus three days after his crucifixion.

Wednesday 14th Apri
l is Pagan Dark Moon @ 13.29. The New Moon Abundance ritual should be carried out within 24 hours after the New Moon.

Wednesday 21st April & Thursday 22nd April - Lyrids Meteor Shower. The Lyrids are an average shower, usually producing about 20 meteors per hour at their peak. These meteors can produce bright dust trails that last for several seconds. The shower usually peaks on April 21st & 22nd, although some meteors can be visible from April 16th  - 25th. Look for meteors radiating from the constellation of Lyra after midnight.

Thursday 22nd April is Earth Day.  2010 will be the 40th anniversary of Earth Day which is heralded as a pivotal opportunity for people, corporations, and governments to join together to create a global green economy. It is hoped that coordinated efforts now will be recognized by future generations as a turning point.

Thursday 22nd April is the Harmony Journey Sacred Site tour to Avebury and Stonehenge, featuring a one hour Private Access Visit to Stonehenge from 18.30 to 19.30 hrs, see www.harmonyhealing.co.uk for details.

Friday 23rd April
is a half day Harmony Journey Mystery Tour in Sussex, see www.harmonyhealing.co.uk for details.

Friday 23rd April is World Book day and St George’s Day in England.  World Book Day is the biggest annual celebration of books and reading in the UK and Ireland, with a selection of £1 books being made available which may be purchased via special World Book Day tokens.  St George's celebrates St George, England's patron saint. The anniversary of his death, which is on April 23, is seen as England's national day. According to legend, he was a soldier in the Roman army who killed a dragon and saved a princess.  The flag of England is the red Cross of St. George, and this is widely displayed as a symbol of national identity. Surprisingly, 23rd April is not a Bank Holiday.

Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th April is Angela McGerr’s Heart & Soul Quest Angel Conference at Nash Manor in West Sussex. See www.angela.mcgerr.com or www.harmonyhealing.co.uk for details. .

Wednesday 28th April
Beltane Full Moon at 13.19. Between this date and the next New Moon is considered as a good time energetically for detoxing the body. Click here for Angela McGerr's Full Moon Meditation with Gabriel

Wednesday 28th April is the Roman fertility festival of flowers and crops called Floralia, that later developed into celebration of sexuality, and may have influenced the subsequent celebrations for Beltane and May Day.  Bright coloured clothes are worn (if any!), races and shows are performed.

Friday 30th April, is the Pagan the Eve of Beltane; celebrations begin with people dancing around the fire clockwise, singing. Sometimes two fires are set, and cattle are driven between the fires to purify them. Dew gathered from the grass at dawn is used in potions for luck and indeed it is believed to be lucky to roll naked in the dew!!!  On Beltane, it is traditional to drink from a well before sunrise. Wash in the morning dew, and adorn yourself with greenery. Watch the sun come up, dance round the Maypole, and otherwise abandon yourself to the season.  Round Full Moon Cakes are eaten and blackberry, elderberry, dandelion wine or cider is drunk. Sacred springs are visited and healing water is drunk.

Saturday 1st May is May Day and Beltane - a Celtic word meaning 'fires of Bel' (Bel was a Celtic deity). It is a fire festival that celebrates the coming of summer and the fertility of the coming year. Celtic festivals often tied in with the needs of the community. In springtime, at the beginning of the farming calendar, everybody would be hoping for a fruitful year for their fields and hence also their families. Beltane rituals would often include courting: for example, young men and women collecting blossoms in the woods and lighting fires in the evening. These rituals would often lead to matches and marriages, either immediately in the coming summer or autumn.

Saturday 1st May was the annual Roman Festival of Bona Dea.  In Roman mythology, Bona Dea (literally "the good goddess") was the goddess of fertility, healing, virginity, and women. She was the daughter of the god Faunus and was associated with supplying medicinal healing herbs in her temple garden. Bona Dea was also invoked for freedom from slavery; many of her worshippers were freed slaves and plebeians, and many were women seeking aid in sickness or for fertility.  This Festival was celebrated by women only!
