Introduction
Welcome to February and I must say not a moment too soon. Judging by the readings I have been doing, many of us have found January has been a frustrating month. Our thoughts and prayers have been with the people of Haiti and the terrible devastation that has taken place there. The upside is the way the world, different races, religions, aid organizations, people have pulled together to aid the Haitians and the pledges of support to rebuild their lives. The number of charity events and opportunities to donate to help them has been overwhelming but the more there are the easier it is. Out of this chaos and horror new order will eventually come as it does in all things whether they be horrible natural disasters or our day-to-day lives.
This month we have a Message from Archangel Eth the Angel of Time with info on what is happening right now and how to take advantage of the energy. Clearing the clutter out of our lives both physically and spiritually. It is also an example of how Angels guide us even when we are not consciously aware.

Sunday 31st January and Monday 1st February is the Pagan Imbolc Ceremony is one of the four Great Celtic Festivals, and which is a Wiccan and Druid Festival of Fertility and Growing Light. It is sacred to the Goddess Brigit or Bridie, the power of the new moon, the Spring of the year, the flowing sea, corn dollies and the Great Moon Mother - Patroness of Poetry Making and Healing. Look at what you want to achieve this year and ask Brigit's help in making it happen.
Sunday 14th February is the Pagan Dark Moon @ 02.51 (Saturday Night/Sunday Morning). The New Moon Abundance ritual should be carried out within 24 hours after the New Moon.
Sunday 14th February is the Chinese and Japanese Lunar New Year. Celebrate with vegetarian snacks and fireworks, drums and cymbals from sunset onwards. Spring clean your house in preparation and decorate with strips of red paper with messages of long life, health, wealth & happiness. Visit friends and family, but new clothes, especially shoes and settle debts. It is the New Year of the Metal Tiger, Which is humanitarian, radical, determined as well as stylish and unpredictable. It is a year to focus on determined work individually and collectively in order to make out world a better place and on in which our civilization can survive.
Sunday 14th February is also of course St. Valentine's Day. One legend suggests that Valentine was a priest during the third century in Rome. Emperor Claudius II outlawed marriage as he believed that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families. Valentine, however, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages in secret. Claudius found out and ordered that he be put to death. February 14th is celebrated in his memory.
Monday 15th February is Lupercalia in Roman tradition. Apparently, this was the popular ceremony of fertility, featuring naked men running through the street! I can’t see this catching on in the UK climate! Some say it was this ceremony that was the precursor for Valentine’s Day.
Wednesday 17th February is Ash Wednesday. Although Ash Wednesday is generally said to have been named after the tradition of burning away old issues in preparation for Lent, there was apparently another tradition of placing a stick of Ash down one's sock for good luck!
Monday 22nd February is Roman Festival of Caristia. This was a Feast Day occasion of family reunion, when Roman fathers would pay special attention to their families.

Sunday 28th February is also the Jewish Ceremony of Purim. This is the Spring Carnival celebrating the averting of a Persian Massacre. It is traditional to have a feast and dress up in costumes and masks. Monday 1st March is Matronalia, according to Roman tradition, which was the topsy-turvy feast sacred to Juno, where the Mistress of the house waited on her servants for the day and presents were given to other people’s partners! Monday 1st March is also St David’s Day. St. David, Dewi Sant, is the patron saint of the Welsh, and 1st March, his feast day, is celebrated as a patriotic and cultural festival by in Wales.
